PSYC105-02: Project-based section for Spring Semester
During spring semester, a small, project-based section of PSYC105 (Foundations of Contemporary Psychology) will be taught. This special section will provide an introduction to the field of psychology though digital projects that will include video production, editing, post-production and graphic design using Adobe Photoshop and Premiere. Interested students should request section 2.

The Wesleyan Mathematics and Science Scholars (WesMaSS) Program plans to break the Guinness world record for the largest number of people rolling down a hill within an hour. This event is scheduled from 10-12 noon on Saturday, November 4 on Foss Hill. Come join the fun and raise Cardinal spirit by having students, staff and the Middletown community work together to break a world record and get into the Guinness Book! Students can meet with WSA representatives and OCS volunteers in Usdan from Thursday October 26th to Thursday November 2nd from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm to register to vote as well as request and send absentee ballots! If you can’t make it, please consider visiting Rock The Vote to see what elections are coming up and to register to vote in your state.

The United States could be on the brink of war in Korea, and America’s commander in chief continues to bluster and threaten while lacking any coherent national security strategy. Not only have President Trump’s words and deeds severely damaged the US standing with allies around the world, but his rhetoric seems to have emboldened rather than intimidated U.S. enemies. What are the risks of a new war breaking out under the Trump administration? Are the generals with whom Trump has packed his administration a restraining force? How serious a threat does Russian hacking and election interference constitute to US democracy? Can America can continue to lead the world under Donald Trump?
Thomas Nichols is a professor of national security affairs at the US Naval War College (and a five-time undefeated Jeopardy! champion). He was a leading voice in the ‘never Trump’ movement, arguing that Trump was ‘too mentally unstable’ to serve as commander-in-chief. He is the author of seven books on the Russian military and US national strategy. He will be signing copies of his most recent book The Death of Expertise: The Campaign Against Established Knowledge and Why it Matters (2017, Oxford University Press).
